All-male dance squad pulled from Mobile parade

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — The all-male dance squad that stirred controversy during a Christmas parade over the weekend in southwest Alabama has been shut out of a New Year's Eve parade in Mobile.

AL.com (http://bit.ly/18Kbpvq) reported Tuesday that the Prancing Elites were invited to perform during the Moon Pie Over Mobile parade, but the Downtown Mobile Alliance rescinded the offer after the group's performance in Semmes.

Four performers wore snug snorts and Santa-themed sweaters as they performed a dance routine some considered provocative and inappropriate for the setting.

The group's 26-year-old captain, Kentrell Collins, says members are crushed over being booted from the parade.

Their agent, Suzanne Massingill, says offers of group members wearing jogging suits and signing a contract to participate in the Mobile parade weren't enough to sway the event's organizers.
