Bob Buckhorn for Mayor
Bob came to Tampa with $300 in his pocket and nothing but a rusty Dodge Dart.
He worked hard for us as a special assistant to the Mayor and helped lead the effort to save MacDill and the jobs that come with it. As a City Councilman, he stood up for our police and firefighters. Bob also fought for more open government, helping pass one of the strongest lobbyist registration ordinances in the country and requiring more financial disclosure from public officials.
But as a father, he wants what we all want from our city - a government that works. A City Hall that is open for business when you are and works as hard as you do. He believes our government should protect our neighborhoods and our children, and he wants to create a better city for his own children to live, work and raise a family.
Bob's approach is to make government work for us instead of the other way around. To make City Hall focus on what we value most - safe neighborhoods, better jobs for our families, low taxes that stay low because the city we love is well-managed.
